Multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses installation, drawing, painting, photography, mechanical devices and video. His work explores understandings of nature, investigating the relationships between human beings and the power dynamics between living and nonliving beings, as well as myths, mysteries and mythologies of life on Earth.
In her practice, the artist blends traditional methods with experimental approaches, combining organic and synthetic materials to create symbiotic works that address science, history, philosophy and emotional territories. Her body of work results in inquiries that encompass cultural, social, ecological and intangible aspects.
Ana Bia Silva has held solo exhibitions such as Ruir, to Dust (2022), at the UFF Art Gallery in Niterói, RJ, and Quintal (2022), at the Correios Cultural Space, also in Niterói, RJ. She has participated in group exhibitions, including Botanical Body (2023-2024), at the Jacarandá Art Club, Rio de Janeiro, RJ; Cultivations of Mystery (2023), at Solar dos Abacaxis, Rio de Janeiro, RJ; EWÊ | OMÍ (2023), at Portas Vilaseca Gallery, Rio de Janeiro, RJ; and Abre Alas 18 (2023), at the Gentil Carioca Gallery, Rio de Janeiro, RJ / São Paulo, RJ.
